Ground Truth: A Soil Pit Field Day

Get your boots dirty with Soil Scientist Dr Cassandra Schefe as she unpacks the science of soil health and productivity from the ground up – right from a soil pit on a working carbon project site.
Date: Wednesday 17 September
Time: 12.30pm – 3.30pm
Location: Hallora (venue address supplied at registration)

Step into the paddock for a hands-on field workshop with Soil Scientist Dr Cassandra Schefe at a SoilKee carbon project site. We’ll kick off by exploring the innovative SoilKee system, then dig into a soil pit to uncover the secrets of soil health, productivity, and carbon.

With Cassie’s extensive experience and clear, farmer-focused communication, you’ll gain valuable insights into what’s happening beneath your boots—and how it can apply to your land. We will learn about soil properties and constraints and how to improve nutrient and water management for thriving pastures.

The day will wrap up with an engaging session linking what we’ve seen in the field to practical strategies for building soil carbon.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect cutting-edge science with real-world farming.
